LDS Newport Beach Temple Wedding: Katie + Dustin

If you could pick the perfect weather for your wedding, would it look a little something like this?:

We’re pretty sure this is what most brides have in mind! After several weeks of rain, the sun finally made its return to Orange County, just in time to shine a little light on Katie and Dustin’s wedding. These two tied the knot last Saturday at the LDS Temple in Newport Beach. Keith and I had the honor of photographing this duo after their temple sealing. You might remember Katie and Dustin from their engagement session we shot in Oak Glen last fall.

After about an hour at the temple grounds, we visited the Lab in Costa Mesa for some more casual portraits. Katie and Dustin are adorable together!

And did we mention that Katie looked stunning?! Keith captured her perfectly. One of our favorite shots of the day!

The Lab was the perfect spot for these relaxed portraits. Their wedding colors of yellow and black blended perfectly with the anti-mall’s decor.

Happy Anniversary to April & Matt!

Today is October 25, and one year ago April and Matt took their vows under the water tower at the Newland Barn in Huntington Beach. It was a awesome celebration with lots of perfect little details—everything from hand-crafted paper flowers and boutonnieres to hand-cut table place cards, with catered In-N-Out for dinner and fabulous cupcakes from Miss Priss Cupcakes & Such for dessert. Clearly the happy couple put quite a bit of time into designing their perfect wedding.

We recently met up with them on the occasion of a new blessing to their growing family: baby Elle was born just a few weeks ago, and pictures of our session with her will be here soon.

So today, on their one-year wedding anniversary, we just wanted to take time out and congratulate April and Matt. Three cheers to a great couple and their new family!

Three years!

The skies are dark, the rain is pouring, and it’s a little chilly outside. Despite the gloomy weather, Keith and I have plenty to celebrate. This holiday weekend marks the third anniversary of our photography business. We’ve come a long way since our first photo shoot of Baby Nate three years ago. We can’t believe how much we’ve learned and grown as photographers. But we didn’t do it alone. Much thanks to all the fantastic families and beautiful brides and grooms who allowed us into their lives—even for just a day—to capture their special moments.

For celebratory treats I usually opt for cupcakes, but with the rainy weather today, we opted for something a little more fitting: hot chocolate (with THREE marshmellows, of course!) and a baby banana bundt cake from Corner Bakery. Yum!

Sneak Peek – Orange County Bridal Session

Last Thursday, Keith and I celebrated our fourth anniversary. We celebrated all weekend with several activities including a dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, a hike through Shady Canyon, a trip to Corona del Mar to take in the annual sandcastle competition, and what had to have been the most fun—photographing a bridal session with several great couples at a gorgeous spot in Yorba Linda, CA. All the gowns, suits, and flowers were a perfect reminder of our own wedding day just four years ago. We shot a ton of photos, and I couldn’t wait to post a quick sneak peak of this cute couple. You just can’t beat how much they love each other, as well as all that gorgeous afternoon light.

Wedding Bells in Newport Beach

It’s wedding season! And Keith and I can’t think of a better way to kick things off than by sharing some of the details from Kassie and Jason’s wedding day in Newport Beach.

As we mentioned in our sneak peek, their ceremony took place in Orange County at the Newport Dunes Resort, followed by a reception at the Newport Beach Yacht Club. Both locations provided a great backdrop for the bride and groom and their 70-plus guests. Since Jason is a Raiders fan, Kassie had fun putting together a black, silver, and red color scheme for all the wedding details including Jason’s Raiders cuff links, her own Raiders garter, beautiful bouquets of red roses, and tons of delicious strawberries on the reception tables.
