Couples Wanted: Free Engagement Session

Yep, you read right! A FREE engagement session! Keith and I are on the hunt for a few couples who are willing to donate a couple hours of their time to model for us. You see, we’ve found some cool new places in central Orange County where we’d love to photograph, but we need a few fun-loving couples willing make those locations come to life. 2009 Year in Review: Newport Beach Wedding Photos

Is it every girl’s dream to get married on the beach with sand at your feet and the ocean at the horizon? Maybe it’s a coastal California thing, but in any case Kassie and Jason couldn’t have picked a better location for their wedding last February: the Newport Dunes Resort in Newport Beach, CA, with a reception at the Newport Beach Yacht Club.

As their wedding photographers, we were quite pleased to discover lovely details throughout the ceremony and reception. We particularly liked the matching Raiders garter and cufflinks—his and hers tributes to their favorite team—as well as the solid choice of wedding colors (Raiders-inspired black and silver – what else?) and Kassie’s wonderful beaded wedding dress.

Congratulations to Kassie and Jason! It’s hard to believe that your first anniversary is just around the corner.

Ella’s First Birthday – Party Photos

A couple weeks ago we teased you with a sneak peek from baby Ella’s first birthday celebration. But sharing only two photos from such an amazing party just won’t do. It’s only fair to present a few more from Ella’s big day.

As you can tell, Ella made a fine model—she looks particularly adorable in her traditional Korean birthday outfit. Look at those colors! Part of the fun of our job is capturing all the little moments and objects the family took so long to put together, like the cake, food, balloons, and other decorations. It’s always fun to see how different families celebrate milestones and it seems the decorations help tell the story. In this case, the colorful butterfly-themed decor for Ella’s party definitely put a smile on our faces.

Don’t tell anyone, but we enjoy event photography as much as our clients enjoy having parties! If you are planning a birthday or anniversary party in Orange County and want to capture those special memories, give us a jingle. We’d love to photograph your special event!

2008 Year in Review – Party Animal

You probably remember Logan from his two-year portrait session we shot last October. Well, in November we finally got to help the little guy celebrate his big day. His shindig takes the phrase “party animal” to a whole new level thanks to the awesome decorations and desserts his parents planned for his zoo-themed party. Keith and I were especially impressed with the lion and monkey cupcakes his mom, grandmother, and aunt spent so many hours to bake and decorate. And his dad had an equally cute table decoration idea—zoo animal Beanie Babies that guests were allowed to take home as favors. What a cute idea! Happy Birthday, Logan!

2008 Year in Review – Halloween Bash

We met Ryan and Dina through some long-time friends, and boy does Dina know how to throw a Halloween party! It’s bigger than Christmas at their house and it’s definitely the most fun we have all year. For the second year running she asked us to come along to capture the festivities, and that reminds us how much we enjoy handling event photography in Orange County—especially when someone else is handling all the details!

And Dina is good on the details. This year she brought in a monster bounce-house with a slide, and the kids made good use of it. There was lots of good food, and even the desserts looked (and tasted) great. Everyone wears a costume, and all the kids get to whack the pinata. Candy for everyone! And let’s not forget the awesome miniature Halloween village that Dina sets up every year, complete with buildings, lights, witches, and ghosts.

Ryan and Dina’s son Blake was especially cute with his strongman Marine outfit. We’ve shot him before and he’s always a good sport, plus he’s such a handsome little guy!

All in all we enjoyed spending the afternoon with W. family—they’re very friendly and hospitable, and their Halloween party is an awesome event every year. We were so excited to be a part of it.
