Balboa Fun Zone Engagement Session

Becky has beautiful blue eyes, striking red hair and a welcoming smile. She has a positive attitude and laughs easily.

But could it be that her fluffy-headed poodle Buster is the magnet that attracted Joe, her Mr. Right and soon-to-be husband? Inquiring minds needed to know, so we met them for engagement pictures at the Balboa Fun Zone in Newport Beach, the site of their first date.

Buster was kind enough to join us for a bit.

Buster doesn’t do Ferris Wheels. And neither do I—at least not the kind that swings wildly at every turn—but Becky and Joe do, so Keith was happy to climb on board while I watched from below.

A quick stop at the local candy shop brought out the kid in all of us.

After a quick wardrobe change, the four of us walked across to the pier and dipped our toes in the sand.

As the light fell deeper into the horizon and out of view, we wandered back to the Fun Zone for a last shot in front of the Ferris wheel before bidding them goodbye for the night. We can’t wait to see these two again this weekend when they exchange their vows. Congratulations Becky and Joe!

LDS Newport Beach Temple Wedding: Katie + Dustin

If you could pick the perfect weather for your wedding, would it look a little something like this?:

We’re pretty sure this is what most brides have in mind! After several weeks of rain, the sun finally made its return to Orange County, just in time to shine a little light on Katie and Dustin’s wedding. These two tied the knot last Saturday at the LDS Temple in Newport Beach. Keith and I had the honor of photographing this duo after their temple sealing. You might remember Katie and Dustin from their engagement session we shot in Oak Glen last fall.

After about an hour at the temple grounds, we visited the Lab in Costa Mesa for some more casual portraits. Katie and Dustin are adorable together!

And did we mention that Katie looked stunning?! Keith captured her perfectly. One of our favorite shots of the day!

The Lab was the perfect spot for these relaxed portraits. Their wedding colors of yellow and black blended perfectly with the anti-mall’s decor.

2009 Year in Review: Newport Beach Wedding Photos

Is it every girl’s dream to get married on the beach with sand at your feet and the ocean at the horizon? Maybe it’s a coastal California thing, but in any case Kassie and Jason couldn’t have picked a better location for their wedding last February: the Newport Dunes Resort in Newport Beach, CA, with a reception at the Newport Beach Yacht Club.

As their wedding photographers, we were quite pleased to discover lovely details throughout the ceremony and reception. We particularly liked the matching Raiders garter and cufflinks—his and hers tributes to their favorite team—as well as the solid choice of wedding colors (Raiders-inspired black and silver – what else?) and Kassie’s wonderful beaded wedding dress.

Congratulations to Kassie and Jason! It’s hard to believe that your first anniversary is just around the corner.

Wedding Bells in Newport Beach

It’s wedding season! And Keith and I can’t think of a better way to kick things off than by sharing some of the details from Kassie and Jason’s wedding day in Newport Beach.

As we mentioned in our sneak peek, their ceremony took place in Orange County at the Newport Dunes Resort, followed by a reception at the Newport Beach Yacht Club. Both locations provided a great backdrop for the bride and groom and their 70-plus guests. Since Jason is a Raiders fan, Kassie had fun putting together a black, silver, and red color scheme for all the wedding details including Jason’s Raiders cuff links, her own Raiders garter, beautiful bouquets of red roses, and tons of delicious strawberries on the reception tables.

Sneak Peek: Kassie and Jason

You might remember Kassie and Jason from their engagement session last fall. We couldn’t wait to help these two lovebirds celebrate their big day. 2008 Year in Review – Kassie & Jason’s Engagement Session

We really love our job. We meet fun people. We visit cool places. We take engagement photos along the Orange County coast. We make and share memories with nice folks like you! Did we mention we really love our job?

Kassie and Jason contacted us last year to take their engagement pictures. They’re getting married next month at Newport Dunes in Newport Beach—a great location with sand, sun, palms and calm waters off the bay, plus some really fancy-looking boats in the harbor. So last September we met these lovebirds along the shore to give them the full workup.

The whole engagement session took about two hours, and Kassie and Jason stayed beautiful to the end. Thanks, guys, for being such great sports! We look forward to shooting your wedding the week after Valentine’s Day. Check back next month for photos from their big day.
