2009 Year in Review: Heat Wave

Remember this adorable guy? Last September, we kicked off our Fall portrait season with a session for this awesome family vacationing from New York. The location was Laguna Beach, but the cool ocean water was no match for the heat wave that blasted through Orange County that weekend. Despite the blistering temps, the entire family, including little Max, were champs and we got several great shots. In fact, we even turned one of them into a 16″x20″ canvas. We’ll soon be updating our website with photos of the great products we’re offering for 2010, including canvases and custom albums. Sneak Peek: All Wrapped Up

Spring at the Fullerton Arboretum is always a treat, especially when you get to meet up with a great family. On Sunday, we had the pleasure of photographing this smiling bunch. Best of all, Naomi brought these colorful wraps to bundle her little ones in. What a great idea! They helped to turn a traditional family session into something unique and fun.

2008 Year in Review – Fall Family Portrait Session

We love the fall! Autumn is always our busiest season—and for good reason. A number of families book in the fall to get their annual family portrait taken for their Christmas cards, including the P. family, who we photographed last November. We knew it would be a fabulous session as soon as they arrived for their shoot. Chase was excited to see the jungle gym at the park and Keith had a fun time following him around while I stayed behind and took photos of his adorable little sister Molly. We also loved the interaction between Lesley, Greg, and the kids. There’s a lot of love in this family and it shows. Thank you to the P. family for such a fun morning.

2008 Year in Review – New Addition

September was a record month for us—we’ve never booked so many family portrait sessions. And this next family helped contribute to our success. The G. family in Orange County wanted family portraits and baby photos of the newest addition to their family, Luke. Of course their little blonde angel Ella is pretty darn adorable also! So we spent some time sitting in the backyard, on the front porch, and anywhere else the kids wanted to go.

One of the fun things about photographing children is appreciating how everything is wonderful and new to kids. We try to find those moments and capture them for posterity. We find these casual photos make the best shots—better than any studio portrait—and show the true personality of the family.

We thank the G. family for allowing us into their home to photograph their beautiful family and we hope to see them again soon.

2008 Year in Review – All Bundled Up

Is there anything more precious than a sleeping baby? We’re guessing not, especially after meeting the P. family who invited us to photograph their new bundle of joy, Sadie, as well her big sister, Lily.

Sarah had a fantastic idea—she swaddled Sadie in an adorable pink blanket and set her on the bed. As infant photography goes, nothing can be cuter than a little one all bundled up with those great fabrics. We also loved the personalized diaper cover the family received as a gift for Sadie’s arrival.

One of the nice things about taking pictures in Orange County is the weather is nice pretty much all year round, and south Orange County in particular has so many great places to shoot…but somehow we never left the house for this session. Sometimes the best memories can be captured right at home, just like the adorable shot of Jim and Lily playing in the mirror.

We had an awesome day photographing the kids and their parents and we thank them for opening their home to us for the afternoon. Thank you!
