2010 Year in Review: Orange County Family Portraits

Happy Tuesday, folks! 2011 has definitely started off on the right foot. Keith and I have been busy planning a few tweaks to the website. We’ve also been studying the calendar planning dates for upcoming mini-sessions (e-mail us if you’re interested in one!). We’ve also had fun taking a look back at all the family, maternity, and newborn sessions we shot last year—32 in all! We thought it would be fun to post one photo from each session. Sneak Peek: San Juan Capistrano Engagement Session

Here’s a couple that needs no introduction…

Yesterday, Keith and I had the opportunity to take engagement photos for an awesome couple…Matt and Jenna. We met up with this duo at our new favorite location…the historic district in San Juan Capistrano. For their session, Jenna got creative with these cute blackboards she picked up at a local craft store. We love it when couples take the time to personalize their sessions with thoughtful props such as these.

One of our favorite shots—a romantic stroll on the train tracks. But don’t worry, the trains weren’t running that afternoon.

After a quick outfit change, we headed to Aliso Creek Beach to enjoy a little time on the sand.

It didn’t take long before everyone got wet.

2009 Year in Review: Just Beachy

In November, we met up with the G. Family at Aliso Creek Beach for their annual family portrait session. One of the more interesting aspects of family photography is watching the kids grow up…and they grow so fast! The first time we met this family their son Luke was just a few months old. He and his sister Ella are a little bigger now, but still oh-so-cute. Both kids have adorable smiles and play well together. We especially like the preppy look baby Luke sported for this family session. And Ella and mom looked adorable in matching dresses.

The kids seemed to enjoy running up and into the gently lapping waves (under dad’s supervision of course). We may have allowed them to get a little wet in the process, but it’s all in the name of fun family photos they can enjoy for years.

2009 Year in Review: Aliso Creek Beach Portraits

Last Fall, the beach was a popular destination for a number of our portrait clients, including fellow Orange County photographer Evangel Abrego. She and her family met us at Aliso Creek Beach for their annual family portrait. This was the first time we shot at this location, but it sure is popular with photographers—there were several groups gathered on the beach, jostling for position. And we can see why…plenty of white sand, fun rock outcroppings, and blue ocean out at far as the eye can see.

The Abrego boys seemed to enjoy themselves as well. They ran up to and away from the surfline, kicked around the sand, slid down the sand hill, and even teamed up to dig their way through the remnants of a sand castle. They were adorable and the whole family was great to work with. Need proof? Just view the slideshow to see more from the fun morning we spent with them.
